Whats wid amdavadis?

Its been nearly two months..when i came to amdavad.. they just love calling it so..amdavad.

And i am amused to see so many people repeating just one phrase in the morning..as soon as i wake up,the milkman,the housemaid,my neighbour,the watchman,his wife,the grocer..all repeating.."kem chho?" without fail.the answer is funnier.."maja ma..".i mean in any other language,we have several phrases of stating this.."i m fine","i m good","all's well"..but amdavadis like to be"maja ma!"

There are worse situations once you are out of your house,trust me..the traffic is a mess..you have better chances of survival..if you keep moving.To gujratis Time is money..you need proof?..hit the road.

The Gujju boys are shy..they are one woman-men..or if we look at it this way..they have invested so much time on a girl,(and remember time is money!),they just dont want to do it again and again..But dont feel lucky to spot a handsome fellow at the bus stop,if you ask him,"what time is it?"he would answer,"12 past five.."and tear your heart,saying"..ben(sister)!"

Another amusing fact:amdavadis find their bahoos very saras!whenever they find anything pleasant..they'll go like.."bahu saras chhey!".

But even with all this and more..amdavad is fun loving,forgiving and celebrating..each day and every moment of it.The city has work for everyone who is willing to work.The streets are safe..and people rarely find time to quarrel..so to sum up...
